Our Story: What Makes NICHEM Niche

At NICHEM, we walk the talk and make niche chemicals for a greener tomorrow. Our cumulative experience of 100 years helps us restore the green back to the environment not only with industrial products like polymer additives, water purifiers, agro chemicals but also everyday consumer essentials.

We choose our partners with great environmental-sensitivity, thus constantly striving to generate global awareness, so that we all collectively contribute to making the world better than we found it.

Our Torch Bearers

Rajan Raje

Chief Executive Officer

An innate go-getter, who holds a Masters’ degree in Chemistry coupled with a Management Diploma. His 45 years+ of industrial experience has led numerous teams towards success and understands the ins and outs of managing a business P&L and its people. Prior to NICHEM, Rajan was a Director in LifeLine Technologies for last 20 years and before that he served as India Country Manager at Willett International (a UK based company). Serving as a member on the Board Of Directors of Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industries, heads their MSME Committee and is member of their Agricultural Committee. Also heads MSME Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce, ensuring elevated exposure to Industry leaders and senior NITI Aayog members. When he is not doing all the things he does as CEO of NICHEM (i.e. overseeing product development, operations, manufacturing, customer support, and more!), he somehow finds the time to enjoy music and sports (we still haven’t figured out how he does that). Innovation, teamwork, creativity, versatility, inclusive growth for all, are the buzzwords that drive him. Ready to pull up his sleeves, doing the hard work needed in every moment, he likes to get things done in a jiffy! (just ask his team).

Prof (Dr.) V.C. Malshe

Chief Technology Officer

An outstanding student, armed with a B. Sc (Tech) degree in Paints Technology, M.Sc.-Tech (PPV), Bombay University, 1972) and Ph. D-Tech in 1975, Prof Malshe has always been an achiever. He has mastered (and continues to master!) the enviable skill of looking at real life problems with distinctive lens. All this has led him to create innovative solutions, and by looking at possibilities ahead of anyone else, across the industry for 55 years+. As a Professor of Paint technology at ICT-Mumbai, he helped students see the world of paints, polymers differently. As a Polymer Scientist & Paint Technologist he has several international publications and patents to his credit (Letting his work speak for himself, the accolades he humbly keeps in his home) Prof. Malshe is on the editorial board of many International Journals: editorial board of Reactive and Functional Polymers (USA) (now retired), Progress in Organic coatings, Resin and Pigment Technology (UK) , Journal of Coatings Technology Research (USA) a newly launched Journal “Recent Patents in Chemical Engineering “(USA) and Paint India (IN). As a CTO Prof. Malshe is responsible for all of the R&D development of NICHEM. When not tinkering with how to make this world better with his solutions, he spends time with music and family.

Aniket Malshe

Director

A metallurgical engineer by degree, Aniket has had an interesting journey. From music to metals to software (Infosys, Saba) to a dream to take his father’s technologies and specialty chemical solutions to the world, he joined NICHEM as a partner and CMO. Believing in the adages of “What got you here will not get you there” and “Organizations can diversify but individuals must focus”, his management lessons came from talking to people and dealing with varied situations. That’s what drives him as he seeks to create impact for NICHEM in far reaching markets. An adaptive thinker , with robust logical reasoning skills (that we don’t like to challenge often!) when he is not doing all things marketing, he likes to obsess over gadgets and new technologies and making sure everyone he knows, know about them too (Every new joinee gets a crash course in the same, we’re serious!), Playing badminton, reading, watching TV and spending time with his family, he believes in Karma and in being happy, no matter what and spread happiness through his work and deeds.

Dr. Leena Raje

Director HR & Administration

A dynamic administrator with an enriching 35 years of academic, and administrative experience in higher education institutions coupled with 25 years of research experience in the field of food science and nutrition. Her people management skills are being utilised to groom team NICHEM and enable the organization to rise to new heights.
