Microfight 014 Media
Water Purification Chemicals
MicroFight 014 an antimicrobial media which protects the surfaces of water filters from bacterial & viral contamination. It is under US-EPA registration.
Where is it used?
MicroFight 014 is used as an additive in carbon blocks to protect the fouling of carbon blocks. These carbon blocks can be used in gravity filters, online filters, sipper bottles & water jugs to get bacteria & virus-free drinking water.
It is also used as an additive in the inner layer of polymer while manufacturing of water storage tanks, sipper bottles, filter jugs & water pipelines. It prevents formation of microbial biofilms on the inner layers of the water storage systems.
How does it work?
MicroFight 014 contains a photocatalyst which gets activated due to visible light. This activation generates hydroxyl radicals on the surface. Since these hydroxyl radicals are unstable chemical substances, when an organic compound like bacteria or virus falls on the surface of the photocatalyst it combines with O2 – and OH- respectively and turns into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O). This cascade reaction is called ‘oxidation-reduction’. This decomposes common organic matters in the air such as odor molecules, bacteria and viruses.
What are its unique features?
- Protects the carbon blocks and plastic surfaces from bacteria & virus infestation
- Instantly deactivates the microbes
- Highly effective at low dosage
- Ecologically safe, Non-toxic
- One 6-inch carbon block enriched with 1% MicroFight Media treats about 21,000 litres of water
